چکیده
The assessment of the ecosystem state is fundamental to understand success ecological rehabilitation, especially in long term. We aim evaluate rehabilitation a unique Mediterranean dune system site along Tyrrhenian coast Italy which underwent consolidation intervention and species planting at beginning twentieth century after destruction natural ecosystem. used three nearby non-rehabilitated protected coastal sites with different degrees disturbance as reference encompassing potential outcomes target site. To assess overall result intervention, we several plant characteristics measured taxonomic functional beta-diversity between all sites. compared proportions typical ruderal habitat types across further species–area relationship examine if number observed our differed from expected. Our analyses revealed that rehabilitated was taxonomically functionally more similar least disturbed suggest arising botanical inventories can be fruitfully they value diversity community scale. conclude are useful tools reflect functions conservation values ecosystems.

Introduction The origin of the concept of memory consolidation and the introduction of the term “consolidirung” (consolidation) to the modern science of memory are generally credited to Georg Elias Müller (1850–1934), professor at the University of Göttingen, Germany, and his student Alfons Pilzecker. Thoracoscopy provides the physician a window into the pleural space, and enables the biopsy of the parietal pleura under direct visual guidance, chest tube placement and pleurodesis for recurrent pleural effusions or pneumothoraces in selected patients. In this review, we discuss the advances that have been achieved in thoracoscopy since its inception more than a century ago.

Splenosis is a rare occurrence that is defined as autotransplantation of splenic tissue usually after splenic rupture due to trauma and subsequent splenectomy. Although splenosis most commonly occurs in the abdomen, the authors report a rare case of thoracic splenosis after remote thoracoabdominal trauma.
